Our Mission

The History of this ministry began in 1952 when David and Elwanda Fields boarded the "Robin Goodfellow," a freighter headed for South Africa. They were embarking on a journey to be missionaries in this foreign land. It is through their unbelievable sacrifices, devotion and love that there there now stands sixteen Antioch Independent Baptist Churches, the Antioch Bible College a shelter for street children and many great pastors and community leaders who are contributing to the spiritual growth in their community.

"Throughout our years in Africa, we have traveled many miles, seen many things, and fought many spiritual battles. But from this point in life our hearts are filled with praise to our God who led us into marvelous Light, and has given us the privilege of seeing others join us," Elwanda Fields.

Affectionately known as "Papa" and "Mama," the Fields founded the first Antioch Independent Baptist Church in Karatina, Kenya in 1983.

The number of lives touched by Papa and Mama is countless. And the number of lives saved through Christ is priceless.

Kerring for Kenya is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting these ministries. We believe a difference can be made by focusing on a concentrated area - to spur change. They are planting the seeds, we want to nurture them and watch the "flowers" grow. There is nothing more beautiful than a garden in full bloom for the Lord.
